What's New For the 2022 Toyota Avalon?

Toyota has upgraded some of the driver assistance technology for the 2022 Avalon. This includes advancements for radar and camera-based collision avoidance features. The 2022 Avalon is no longer available with all-wheel drive, but it does continue to offer the hybrid model for those after unbelievable fuel economy numbers.

2022 Avalon Trims & Features

There are three main versions of the 2022 Toyota Avalon. The entry-level model is known as the Avalon XLE. It comes equipped with Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay compatibility. This trim is also home to heated front seats, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and many other convenience features.

The Touring model will add wireless device charging, adaptive pivoting headlights, and navigation. Heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats are all standard. The Avalon Limited is where you find genuine leather upholstery.

2022 Toyota Avalon Horsepower

A 3.5L V6 engine creating 301-horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque comes standard for the 2022 Avalon. This pairs with an eight-speed automatic and comes exclusively with front-wheel drive in 2022. For hybrid models, the powertrain is made up of two electric motors and a 2.5L four-cylinder engine. This puts out 215-horsepower.

Toyota Avalon Safety

The 2022 Toyota Sedan did very well in testing conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, receiving an overall score of five out of five stars. Forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are all standard. Adaptive cruise control is standard as well, along with road sign recognition and automatic high beams. For select trim levels, Toyota has all given the Avalon a head-up display and a surround-view camera system.
