What's New For the 2019 Toyota Tacoma?

The Toyota Tacoma is a staple name in the world of consumer trucks. This truck is infamous for its durability and reliability, as well as its more-than-capable performance as a truck suited for hauling and off-roading. Read on to discover the best features of the new 2019 Toyota Tacoma

This year's Tacoma model features a few key updates from the 2018 model. First, it shares a few similar style updates to the Toyota Tundra -- like upgraded suspensions. It also comes standard with a desert air intake, sometimes referred to as a snorkel. This feature allows the Tacoma to intake cleaner air on dusty environments, as well as keep the intake from absorbing water if the vehicle needs to cross over a stream. This is a great new feature that adds greater clout to the Tacoma's legitimate use as both a daily driver and a capable off-road truck. In fact, most of the new features in the Tacoma lend it to being suited as an off-road or utility truck, more so than a daily driver. The new Tacoma also features high-performance Fox shocks, as well as significantly taller front coils and softer rear leaf springs. The new front springs offer about an inch higher ride height.

Outstanding Trims and Features for 2019 Toyota Tacoma

The 2019 Toyota Tacoma comes in a myriad of trims with differing features. The base level Trim -- the SR -- is the most bare-bones version of this still-capable and fun to drive pickup truck. This version comes without full-wheel drive and a smaller, 159-HP engine. It has a bit higher fuel economy of 21 MPG, as opposed to the more deluxe trim options which shave off just a hair of fuel economy. This standard base-level trim does offer some nice features which you would expect in a modern vehicle, such as a rearview camera a deck rail system, skid plates, and USB ports in the interior.

The SR5, which is the next step up in the trim level offerings, comes equipped with Entune, which is Toyota's flagship multimedia system, built into the vehicle. It also comes with fog lights and a tire press.

The TRD Sport is the next level up in the trim options. This version offers 17-inch allow wheels, and cool features such as a wireless cell phone charger. This option also offers significantly more horsepower with a larger engine size.

The TRD Off-Road offers a power-controlled rear window, along with Crawl Control (Toyota's custom 4-wheel drive control system.) It comes with the same engine configuration as the SR5.

The TRD Pro is the highest trim level available in the Tacoma, and of course offers the most impressive lineup of features. This trim level offers its own custom grille, automatic climate control, and the best off-road capability of the trim levels.
