What's New For the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser?

The 2019 model is part of the 6th Land Cruiser generation, which was introduced back in 2008. The luxury SUV is available in one trim level, packed with amble power, comfortable interior, and offering a soft ride while also being very capable when it comes to off-road settings.

2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Trims & Features

Despite being only available in one trim, the Land Cruiser is packed with features. The vehicle comes with 18 inch wheels, automatic high beams, LED headlights, automatic wipers, auto-dimming and power-folding mirrors, a windshield wiper de-icer, running boards, and roof rails. On the inside, it features a sunroof, four-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition, leather upholstery, driver-seat memory functions, ventilated and heated power-adjustable front seats, a heated power-adjustable steering wheel, as well as a cooler box. Front row passengers will benefit from all-day comfortable seats which are wrapped in soft leather, while the 2nd row passengers will enjoy well-added seats and enough space for 3 passengers. There is a total of 16.1 cubes of interior room available behind the 3rd row, 43 cubic feet once the 3rd row is stowed, and a total of 82 cubes once the 2nd row is folded forward.

On the tech side of things, standard features included are wireless smartphone charging, an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth, voice controls, a USB port, a 14-speaker JBL-branded sound system with satellite radio and a CD player, a navigation system, and Toyota's Etune smartphone app suite. An optional package is available, a DVD player featuring an HDMI input for the 2nd row and a pair of 11.6 inch screens being thrown in the mix for the price of $2,200.

2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Horsepower

2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Exterior FrontThe SUV is powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine which produces 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, being paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission as well as a full-time 4-wheel-drive system. When it comes to off-road components, the Land Cruiser includes Toyota's KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), a locking center differential, Crawl Control - which is a low-speed cruise control designed for off-road, hill start assist, tow hooks, skid plates, and Multi-Terrain Select. When it comes to fuel economy, the Land Cruiser runs on regular unleaded fuel, and has been rated by the EPA with 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

The KDSS features anti-roll bars which disconnect at lower speeds in order to allow for more wheel travel on rutted terrain, and the 18 inch alloy wheels paired with a tall sidewall helps when it comes to smoothing out road imperfections. In addition, the solid rear axle and the independent front suspension allow the Land Cruiser to tow up to 8,100 lbs. The Land Cruiser is able to handle virtually any road due to its amble ground clearance and its full-time 4-wheel-drive system which allows for excellent grip. Despite its size, it manages to feature precise steering, making it easy for the driver to feel the way the front tires are acting, and the tire direction display helps when it comes to low-speed off-road settings.

2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Safety

The Land Cruiser is also equipped with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking coupled with forward collision warning and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitors, lane departure warnings, front as well as rear parking sensors, blind-spot and also cross-traffic warning, and a surround-view parking camera system. In addition, the fact that it weighs approximately 5,800 lbs should be quite the asset when it comes to collisions.
