The national automotive outlet, Kelley Blue Book, has named the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime the Electric/Hybrid Best Buy of 2017. The achievement was no easy feat either, as the five-passenger sedan competed against more than 300 new-car models to earn the top spot.

The Prius Prime sets a new standard for the competitive hybrid market by delivering a total driving range of 640 miles when fully fueled/charged. It also offers 25 miles of pure electric range, which is the most of any electric vehicle currently available. For 2017, the car comes equipped with a new 8.8 kWh battery that almost doubles the all-electric range of the Prius Prime compared to the old Prius Plug-In. In addition, once battery power is depleted, the new 1.8-liter four powerplant kicks in. Other improvements include a new 11.6-inch tablet-style center display system that is much easier to navigate than the previous infotainment unit.
