In 2020, the Camry and the Camry hybrid both get some notable updates and improvements. The 2020 Toyota Camry is equipped with all-wheel drive for the first time. Now, you can get wherever you need to go in a vehicle that's also fuel-conscious, tech-savvy, safe, and stylish. All-wheel drive comes standard on select trims, and dynamic torque control is offered on certain trims as well. While the addition of all-wheel drive is a main highlight of the 2020 Toyota Camry, it comes standard with Android Auto for the first time, too.
This year, the 2020 Camry lineup expands with the addition of a performance-oriented TRD model to the fleet. The latest Camry is part of the eighth Camry generation that began in 2018. A spacious cabin and ample cargo capacity are other notable features of the latest Camry. The hybrid is essentially the same as the regular Camry, except for its dual gasoline-electric drivetrain. Like the regular Camry, the hybrid comes standard with Android Auto this year. It also stands out for its exceptional visibility for front-row occupants and a zippy engine.
The Camry family begins with the L. It features a standard seven-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It stands out with custom bi-LED headlights that turn on or off automatically. The second trim is the LE. It adds more features inside and out with an eight-way adjustable driver's seat that also has lumbar support. Toyota's comprehensive safety package, called Safety Sense, is standard from this trim up. The LE also has 17-inch wheels.
An Audio Plus sound system and 18-inch wheels are highlights of the XLE. The SE gets unique coloring with a black front grille and black 18-inch wheels. The SE Nightshade gets an all-black exterior, an original Toyota emblem, and black badges. The XSE gets a more sophisticated audio system and 19-inch wheels. It also upgrades to an eight-inch infotainment display screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The hybrid is available in three trims. The base is called the LE. It has the Toyota Safety Sense package, a push-button start with smart key entry, and an eight-way adjustable driver's seat. The SE features a black grille with mesh inserts, 18-inch black alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and many safety features. The XLE gets silver-polished wheels.
The 2020 Camry is available with two engines. The base engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder that produces up to 203 HP. The second is an available V6 with 301 HP and a 3.5L capacity. Both feature direct injection technology. A direct-shift eight-speed transmission is standard. The hybrid engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder that creates 176 HP and 163 LB-FT of torque at 5,200 RPM.
The 2020 Toyota Camry features ten standard airbags with advanced airbag systems for the driver and front passenger. Multi-point seat belts add another layer of protection. The Star Safety System provides electronic safety controls, while the Safety Sense package offers intuitive driver-assist safety tools. Outside, the Camry features side-impact beams and crumple zones.
