That includes the company's award-winning Toyota Safety Sense package of driver-assist aids. The infotainment system is also updated for the latest model year. Now, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. Connectivity is extended to the back seats, as USB charging ports are included for all passengers in the second row. As before, the 4Runner has many configurations and add-on options to suit a diverse range of needs and tastes.
There are eight trim levels of the 4Runner offered in 2020. The base trim is called the SR5. Its standard interior features include an eight-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay. The sound system has eight speakers for a rich, full sound across the cabin. A backup camera helps you see objects in the back as you reverse. The base trim rides on 17-inch wheels with six spokes. It comes standard with rear-wheel drive or part-time four-wheel drive. Next up is the SR5 Premium.
This trim gets special SofTex heated seats. It also gets a premium audio system and an infotainment system with navigation. The TRD Off-Road trim follows with 17-inch wheels that have seven spokes. This trim features a premium sound system, color-keyed bumpers in front and back, and more standard safety features. It also has a locking rear differential. The Off-Road Premium gets custom lettering and smart key entry.
The Venture Edition gets metallic grey wheels, a black spoiler, black door handles, and a cargo basked. The Limited upgrades to 20-inch wheels, a sunroof, and parking assist sensors. The Nightshade Edition has black exterior accents, dual-zone climate control, and leather seats. The TRD Pro is made to handle the trails with high-performance LED fog lights, a FOX suspension system, and a custom grille.
The 2020 Toyota 4Runner is powered by one engine across the board, which is a 4.0L with six cylinders and 24 valves. This engine produces 270 HP at 5,600 RPM. It also generates up to 278 LB-FT of torque at 4,400 RPM. The 4Runner is available with several drivetrains. Your options include either rear-wheel drive with automatic limited slip-differential, part-time four-wheel drive with traction control, or full-time four-wheel drive, which is offered on select models. All versions come with a five-speed automatic transmission.
From its durable build to its suite of driver-assist technologies, you'll soon discover that safety is certainly a priority in the 2020 Toyota 4Runner.
