What's New For the 2019 Toyota 86?

This rear-wheel sports car zooms into 2019 with even more to love. In fact, drivers have an entirely new version to choose, called the TRD Special Edition. This version of the 86 comes only in black and features a sleek red/black interior. Standard features on this trim include a push-start button, red seatbelts, dual-zone automatic climate control, a black faux leather steering wheel with stylish red stitching, and a faux-suede gauge cluster cover. When it comes to performance, drivers will enjoy a sports suspension with performance dampers, a high-performance exhaust system, and even upgraded brakes.

Rounding out the changes for 2019 is a new exterior color option on certain trims called Neptune. The GT model, which represents the mid-range of the 86, will also be upgraded to red and black leather seats this year.

2019 86 Trims & Features

There are 3 unique trim levels to choose from on the 2019 Toyota 86. They are the base, the GT, and the all-new TRD Special Edition. Each of these vehicles can seat 4 people and comes with rear-wheel drive.

Technology wise, each 86 comes equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen system. This system features a USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth, and HD radio. The sports steering wheel with audio controls is not only practical, but it is also a lot of fun. It has a smaller diameter as well as quick-ratio steering. Sports seating helps you stay comfortable and in place on those long-distance adventures.

Rear-wheel drive sports cars are not exactly known for cargo space, but the 86 actually boasts an impressive amount. The folding rear seat comes standard. With it down, you get a respectable 6.9 cubic feet of space in your trunk.

On the outside, this vehicle screams classic sports car. It has a long hood in combination with a short rear deck, just like a sports car should. Bringing it into the modern era is the ultra-sculpted surface designed to reduce drag. The stylish features were all chosen to not only make your 86 look good, but perform well too. The LED lighting is used all over on the 86, including the high and low beams, turn indicators, and daytime running lamps.
