What's New for the 2018 Toyota Highlander?

The 2018 Toyota Highlander is virtually identical to the 2017 Toyota Highlander, which was the latest model year with a significant redesign. The 2018 Highlander is a mid-size crossover SUV. It has three rows of seats and room for up to eight passengers. The 2018 Highlander comes standard with front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive on some models. The 2018 model is available in a standard and a hybrid version, and it is made with three different types of engines.

Fearless Trims & Features

There are eight different models to choose from in this 2018 SUV, which are the LE, LE Plus, XLE, SE, Limited, Hybrid LE, Hybrid XLE, and Hybrid Limited. The components of the base LE trim include a 4.2-inch information display, split-folding back row seats, five USB ports, hands-free synchronization, a rearview camera, cloth seats, and a handy keyless entry. The engine on this trim level is a 2.7L, four-cylinder that is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Halogen headlights accented with chrome, daytime running lights that can be turned on or off, and a rear spoiler with a center LED light are all standard LE exterior amenities. The LE Plus is a slight step up from the LE. It has the same suite of standard amenities as the LE, with the addition of a larger (eight-inch) touchscreen, power-adjustable front seats, and a steering wheel wrapped in leather. This model also gets a larger and more powerful 3.5L, the V6 engine that's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The third trim level is the XLE. The XLE has the same interior amenities as the LE and LE Plus as well as a leather-trimmed steering wheel and a choice of heated leather seats. Moving up in trim level, the next stop is the SE. The interior of the SE has a sportier design than the lower trim levels, and it's made for tougher terrain with 19-inch wheels and a unique suspension system. The SE is equipped with two 12V auxiliary power outlets and one 120V auxiliary AC outlet in the second row. An optional upgrade is a Blu-ray entertainment system in the backseat. The next trim level is the Limited. The Limited builds on the features of the previous trims with a chrome-accented rear bumper, stylish LED-accented headlights, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a premium audio system. Next come to the hybrid models, which are the Hybrid LE, Hybrid XLE, and Hybrid Limited. The hybrid models all have a 3.5L V6 engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). A moonroof comes standard on the XLE and Limited, and the Limited can be upgraded to a panoramic moonroof. The Hybrid LE has 18-inch wheels, while the other two have 19-inch wheels.
